Inspections

If you are purchasing a new vehicle from a reputable dealer, pre-purchase inspections are seldom done or needed. With a used vehicle, unless you know vehicles very well yourself, you are relying totally on the dealer's honesty and integrity. While most, or at least many, are honest and reliable, some are not; hence the phrase buyer beware. Because of that, if you are contemplating the purchase of a pre-owned vehicle, classic or modern, local or many miles from here, you may find it very intelligent to invest a small amount of money into having us examine it prior to the actual purchase, so that you can go into the purchase with some reasonable security about what you are buying. Many purchasers that buy from the Internet or from out of town advertisements, have an examination clause in the purchase agreement. If you have made such an agreement, we can help you.

Whether before the sale or as part of the sales agreement, we will inspect your vehicle for typical problems associated with that make and model. We will inspect the engine for problems and current condition. If there are service records, we can give them probable authentication or probable denial. We inspect the undercarriage for current condition and obvious signs of accident and previous repair. We can do a pre-smog inspection. We can also give you estimated costs for the needed repairs that you may well use to negotiate the purchase price. A car that is physically attractive and gives the appearance of being well cared for does not always mean it is trouble free. We can give you the peace of mind of knowing the condition prior to the purchase.
