Damaged valve body – if the valve body becomes damaged, the oil pressure inside the transmission will drop dramatically, causing the transmission to fail. A damaged valve body is dangerous because it could lead to a leak of transmission fluid into the engine compartment.
Damaged rear differential – a damaged rear differential can cause problems when turning the vehicle left or right. It’s important to note that the rear differential is located behind the transmission, so it cannot be seen easily.
Damaged steering rack – a damaged steering rack causes the front wheels to lose traction and become difficult to steer. In some cases, the entire steering system may need to be replaced. It might not be directly related to transmission problems, but it can be a sign that you need to take the car to the shop and get it looked at.
